Being Playful

Enzo loves his rings!  Nothing too exciting going on here, but it's just a sample of what he's been up to - chatting, grabbing on to toys and putting everything in his mouth.  It was a cold rainy day today and I had to entertain myself by taking a bunch of pictures and videos!

Enzo wore his first pair of overalls yesterday!  These were Jake's which fit him at 6 months.

Here is Jake wearing them at 6 months!  I'm going to recreate this photo - I have the shirt and the bear!
He is actually standing in this picture using the pillow as support.  He could stand long enough for me to take the picture!!

Esme and Enzo at La Leche League meeting last night.  Esme is dressed as a polar bear.  His skin is pretty rough because I think he has a wool allergy.  I gave him a wool toy right before the meeting and he broke out around his mouth almost instantly.  He resolved pretty quickly though.

This is from this morning.  He actually started 45 degrees from this position (laying in line with the orange and blue blanket).  I put him down, went to make coffee and by the time I got back to him he had moved this far.  We fear he is not going to be a very still child....

A New Stage

Before I explain the title of this post, here are some cutie randomness that has happened over the past two weeks:

Enzo and Esme getting their cuddle on!  They are much more interactive with each other which delights Deborah and I to no end!

The after bath bathrobe and happiness.  He still loves taking baths and we've increased the frequency to at least twice a week now.

He's of course been holding his head up for awhile now, but here are some adorable pictures of him during tummy time and loving it!  He gets pretty bored quickly when on his stomach, but we try to put him there so he can increase his upper body strength in preparation for crawling.  He's really working the eyebrow raise!

This smirk just kills me!

This was taken last night.  He's been such a happy baby this week!  It is so easy to make him smile.  I feel like I'm being spoiled with such a happy little guy!

Now for the new stage news.  He's getting really into putting things in his mouth.  He always seems to have some fingers in his mouth and if not those he finds a toy to shove in there.  He's also reaching for toys now and as you can see below, he's enjoying his gymnasium more and can spend a good amount of time batting the toys and making them jingle.

Today I caught him doing a big back stretch to reach the squirrel that was behind him (and on the opposite side).

Well, last year today Enzo wasn't even a thought in our heads.  A year ago tomorrow though, he was in every thought!  March 23rd was the day we found out he was on the way, which seems like a lifetime ago.  What a journey the past 12 months have been!  The baby being out of the belly has been by far my favorite part.  Well, going on maternity leave was pretty great, but having him in my arms leaves that sentiment in the dust.

3 Months Today!

Oh how the time flies by!  I can't believe it's been a month since I posted here.  So much had happened and Enzo is getting to be so much fun!

When he was 9 weeks old Jake went to Australia for two weeks for a writing workshop.  I was worried about being alone with him by myself for a week, but it was fine.  By the end of the first week I was getting a little burnt out, but then, grandmas to the rescue!!

The grandmas came out to visit (when Enzo was 10 weeks old) and we all had a blast!  It was so special for my mom to meet him for the first time and for them both to spend so much time with him.  He loved all the singing and book reading (and even acquired a few more books for his collection).

This is one of my current favorite pictures:

When Enzo turned 11 weeks old we took our first road trip.  Jen's baby shower was in Sacramento so we loaded him up and had a short but fun time.  This is Enzo in the hotel bed.  He's a natural to lounging!

After the trip I started work the next day and the anticipation of going back to work was much worse than actually going.  I had a very warm reception back to work which made the transition a bit easier.

This is something we've been doing a lot!  He loves the carrier (we couldn't really get comfy in the ring sling) and we take a long walk every day with the dog.  Our current favorite destination is to visit the very pregnant goat named Gemini.  She's going to have her baby goat any day now.
Passed out on daddy in his buffalo jammies.

This was taken today mouthing a new blanket from a co-worker.

At 13 weeks he is getting pretty chatty, sleeping better and reaching for things he's interested in.  It's so fun!
