Just a glimpse

I tried to get a video of Enzo signing "more" but of course he wouldn't do it on command!  He uses the signs for "more" and "again" in the same way and he's been doing it in regards to food and playing.  It's super adorable.  But I got a cute video anyway.

14 Months

I can't believe how quickly this past month has gone!  With Ezra visiting, Enzo being pretty sick, then starting him in Montessori day care and then my birthday, I guess I was kept pretty busy.  So here's some pictures and stories to you catch up.

When Ezra came to visit Jake made us go to the aquarium because he gets annoyed that when my family visits all we do is nap and eat dessert.  Jake has a point so I didn't put up to much of a fuss agreeing to take the trip and besides, Ezra had never been there.  We had a really fun time.  Every time we take Enzo he does more and more things.  It's a joy to watch.

Enzo would not sit still for a photo with Uncle Sheddy.

Had a blast in the kid's area in the "Splash Zone".  Those little waterproof smocks are so cute.

"Yeah, I own the place."

Playing with whale flippers.

New favorite game, sitting on Turnip.  She's such a good girl.

Jake set up an outdoor play area in front of the house with this monstrosity from Craigslist and a swing. He loves it!

On my birthday we went out to brunch then took a walk at Henry Cowell National Park.

I made my favorite dish for my birthday, Vietnamese noodle salad.  Yummm!!  It was a challenge to find basil in February, but it was so worth it.  This salad is spicy, sour, sweet, chewy and crunchy!  All the good things.

Then on February 4th Jake took him to his first day of Montessori day care.  This is taken in the classroom.  It's been going great though Enzo is crying every time I pick him up.  The teachers say he has an internal alarm clock and starts crying 5-10 minutes before I get there.  They believe he is very "capable" and will do great once he gets the routine.  The other kids help him out when he's having an emotional time which is just so sweet.  They've all been there so they try to comfort him.

Last night was pizza night and Enzo "helped" make pizza for the first time.  So many messy things to throw on the floor!

This was Jake's apron when he was a wee lad.

This is how he learns how to wash his hands at school so we're trying to do the same at home.  It's really precious.

Don't worry, we're watching him closely so he doesn't fall.

14 Month Round-Up
Favorite Activities: Stacking cups and blocks, riding the dog, playing outside, playing with his mini broom, eating (huge appetite the past few days), his Animal Kisses book, walking and running with his tummy sticking out, pinching (which we do not like!)

Dislikes: having snot wiped from his face, holding hands

Favorite foods: he's eating everything in sight lately!  I think he's having a growth spurt.  He starts out skinny in the morning then has a big fat tummy by bedtime, boa constrictor style!

New experiences: lots of outdoor playing in the forest, walking with us side by side for short distances, starting school, slept through the night (11 hours) the past three night in a row (also probably due to a growth spurt)

Nicknames: Monkey Man
